Diponegoro University About to Open Master of Marine Engineering

In 2022, the Management of the Naval Architecture Study Program is preparing to open a Master Program in Marine Engineering. Various preparations are being prepared, both administratively and technically, which are required to continue to be refined so that the approvals and permits required for program implementation can be received as scheduled.


The Naval Architecture Study Program already has Accreditation A from Badan Akreditasi Nasional - Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT), so that it is possible to open a master program. Preparing to open S2 (Master) Marine Engineering from the proposal, preparation of curriculum, preparation of lecturers, already done. Also efforts have been made to introduce plans to open a master's degree in marine engineering to the public and stakeholders.


For lecturers, currently there are six lecturers with doctoral degrees. In addition, at this time there are also two lecturers currently pursuing doctoral education and two people who have just started taking doctoral programs this year. The lecturers have taken doctoral education in Indonesia and some are abroad. Other preparations that have been made include the preparation of a Semester Learning Plan (RPS) for Masters courses per semester to support the curriculum for the Masters program.


The concentration of the study focuses on three areas, namely Capture Fisheries Technology, Non-Conventional Fast Ship Technology, and Inter-Island Transportation Technology. In the field of Capture Fisheries Technology, the courses offered include advanced fishing boat design, structural and system reliability, fishing boat performance, advanced fishing vessel stability, and piping structure analysis. As for the field of Non-Conventional Fast Ship Technology, the courses offered include non-conventional fast boat design, advanced fluid dynamics, advanced ship vibrations, structural and system reliability, advanced material technology and composite materials. Meanwhile for Inter-Island Transportation Technology, courses that will be offered include ferry design, advanced fluid dynamics, advanced ship vibrations, structural and system reliability, analysis of piping structures, and ship structure fatigue.
