Sex Education in Indonesia, Is It Important?

Here's my opinion about sex education in Indonesia.

For me, it's really important for kids start to learn about sex education cause it's really sad if i read the news about underage children became victims of sexual violence.

In Indonesia, people still think that sex education is taboo because the misconceptions. Many people still think that sex education will teach children to have sex before marriage, that we know sex before marriage is not accordance with religious norms. Even though, sex education is not only talk about sex.

Why?

Because teaching about sex education there are stages of age.

Here's the guide for your children, that i've learned from various articles and resources.

From 0-5 years old, taught your kids about their genital. Let them touch it because they curious what it is, and taught them about the difference between boys and girls. Also tell them to keep it private, don't let people to touch it and taught them to not touch others too.

From 5-8 years old, tell them about reproductive organs and about the puberty. Also say to them that it's okay to be different, people are born different nothing is the same. Well, in this stage you need to tell them about personal skill, family, friendship, and love because next step they will enter puberty stage.

From 9-12 years old, taught them about the puberty because girls must prepare about their first periods and boys about their first ejaculation. Then, tell them about sex behaviour. In this periods, kids are curious and want to find out. Kids nowadays at this age are over-ejaculate because they don't know about it, since their parents think it's taboo. So it's better to tell them about sex behaviour, when they ejaculate, sex before marriage and the consequence, and many more.

For me, it's better to tell kids about this. So they have decisions about sex, also you can have good relationship with your kids cause they think you are open to discuss and will not judge you it makes them to trust you to tell about anything.
