The Academic Senate of Diponegoro University again held a Plenary Meeting on Monday (14/12). Today's agenda is the Plenary Meeting of the Senate Of Academic Professors (SA) and the Plenary Meeting of the Academic Senate held at 09.00 WIB until completion. Located in the Academic Senate Courtroom, the plenary meeting conducted offline and online was attended by the Chairman of the Academic Senate, Secretary of the Academic Senate, and the Board of Professors. Two Undip lecturers who presented the results of their research in the framework of proposing the academic position of professors came from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Economics and Business.
The first presentation was delivered by FEB Undip lecturer, Dr. Drs. Mochammad Chabachib, M.Si, Akt. with the theme "Corporate Financial Policy and Stock Beta: Its Effect on Stock Return and Company Value". According to him, the company now holds a broad interest so that there needs to be planning in the field of finance in the form of budgeting policies. One of the long-term financial instruments is the capital market that can be traded and can be a useful investment alternative for companies. Financial policy in the form of financial ratios has a different impact on the value of the company and the return of shares of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, so the company should consider it carefully. In addition to financial ratios, another indicator used to calculate stock returns is beta stocks. Therefore, in investing in stocks it is necessary to pay attention to financial ratios, especially liquidity, solvency, and profitability ratios.
The second presentation with the theme "The Role of Thermodynamics in Food-Based Material Processing" was presented by Dr. Ir. Ratnawati, M.T. from the Faculty of Engineering. Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, including seaweed, sugar cane, and coffee. With seaweed production of 10 million tons/year, sugar cane 4.7 million tons/year, and coffee 173 thousand tons/year, the result of this resource can generate higher revenue if processed into extracts or products. From his research, this Lecturer in Chemical Engineering showed that seaweed products produced by the process of depolymerization the carrageenan are called caragenan, natural polysaccharides that are widely used as thickening materials, gel-forming, and stabilizers. For the utilization of sugar cane can be processed into high-level alcohol that is processed through the continuous distillation process. As for coffee processing, extraction is done to separate the caffeine from coffee beans. By processing natural resources into finished products, export results will be more beneficial for Indonesia's per capita income.
In addition to the two candidates, there are several other candidates to become UNDIP professors. Undip is very supportive of lecturers and the academic community who continue to work and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Indonesia.
