SEMARANG - The Doctoral Program of Information System (DSI) organized by Diponegoro University (UNDIP) is the only current and first program in Indonesia. Although it is a new study program that gathers in Undip Graduate School, the DSI program that began to accept students in the Academic Year 2020/2021 is in great demand.
Head of DSI Program of Undip Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Suryono SSi MSi, said DSI (Doctor of Information System) Program Undip has started academic activities for the first-generation students who enter in odd semester OF FY 2021. The plan is, in the even semester of FY 202/2021 there will be more admissions.
'In odd semesters, we accept 25 students. 'As for the Even semester, we will accept another 15 students because this year the number received is limited to 40 students only. Details, 25 students for odd semester class and 15 students in Even semester,'' said Prof. Dr. Suryono SSi MSi, Thursday (3/12/2020).
According to him, the enthusiasm to enter the DSI Undip Study Program is quite high for the doctoral or third-degree level. "When it opened, there were at least 47 prospective students who wanted to join. But we can only accept 25 people,'' he said.
Nowadays, when the odd semester has not been opened, many have asked, and want to join. Dozens of people intensely asked for ordinances, requirements and other matters related to the DSI Undip program, while seats were available for only 15 students. Those who are mentioned are interested, not including those who ask institutionally such as from Belitung Polytechnic who asked for study information and wanted an official meeting with the manager to study institutional cooperation.
Based on the existing academic calendar, the opening of PDSI Undip registration for Even Semester 2020/2021 will begin on December 7, 2020. Meanwhile, the entrance exam will be held on January 17, 2021, with the entrance test material covering academic potential test (TPA), English language, interview, and desertion plan presentation. The results of the selection will be announced on January 20, 2021, and those who are declared accepted must attend college as of February 1, 2021.
Furthermore, Suryono revealed, most who take Program DSI are lecturers. Of the 25 students in the Odd Semester, 24 were lecturers. They're average computer professors. Only one student, who is not from a lecturer and is not bound by a particular institution,'' he said.
Asked about the number of students accepted, he said the facilities and infrastructure available were possible. High enthusiasm, is also one of the considerations. Suryono said, all to follow the doctoral program of information systems we have to go abroad, but now it can be done in Indonesia. Undip was the pioneer.
There are two paths to choose from to become an information systems doctor in Undip. The first is the course that must be started by attending 10 credits. After that, it was continued with research and published its research in international journals.
For the second line of research, at the beginning of the lecture students directly undergo a research proposal exam. In this path there is guidance on research proposals and continued with the examination of research proposals. The new research was carried out after his research proposal was passed. The target of publication of research pathways for students are three scientific publications in international journals.
