Vice Rector (WR) I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof Budi Setiyono Ph.D., confirmed that the lecture process in the even semester of the academic year (TA) 2020/2021 which will begin in January 2021, will still be done online or online. The policy was decided after considering input from various parties.
With various considerations for security, UNDIP continues to conduct lectures online. Because, Central Java is still in the category that is wary of the Covid-19 Pandemic, where Central Java is still in the red zone of some areas,'' he said when asked for confirmation related to Undip academic activities, Saturday (12/19/2020).
According to him, the implementation of online lectures is still like the previous semester. There are exceptions for students who have to practice, and those who are nearing graduation can be done face-to-face. But the activity was also carried out with health protocols with strict supervision, in addition to the requirements of permission from parents and lecturers. Another requirement is that students who do activities offline are in good health.
He asserted, the choice online primarily considers the safety of students as well as lecturers. The spread of Covid-19, which is still unpredictable, makes the choice must be taken back even though the policy has been carried out since last semester.
Actually, the government through the Minister of Education and Culture has given the green light to the application of lectures face-to-face. However, the granting of face-to-face learning permits must be adjusted to the conditions of their respective regions, so that education providers including universities must be wise in making decisions.
The government has also issued a Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Education and Culture, Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs on Guidelines for The Implementation of Learning in the Even Semester of the Academic Year and Academic Year 2020/2021 during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The SKB gives authority to the apparatus in the region because it is considered as the party that knows best and understands the conditions, needs, and capacity of the region.
Previously, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Undip reminded that the process of distance learning (PJJ) and the application of work from home as the implementation of social distancing potentially cause psychological disorders. The occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic that demands a change in behavior in society, can cause serious psychological disorders and threaten people's productivity. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention so that the potential for psychological disorders can be minimized.
In response, Warek 1 Undip stated that the agency pays attention to it. The university has even anticipated the resulting quality to be maintained even though lectures are conducted online. Undip has prepared a studio at the Institute for Education Development and Quality Assurance (LP2MP) to develop an online lecture model and document lecture materials to be re-accessed by students for deepening.
Various facilities ranging from websites, emails, community forums, and other information technology tools are used to support learning called asynchronous online, which is a method that allows program participants to learn other than at a set time. This method aims to maintain the quality of education held.
